Dragoș Călin is the founder of the Aproape Festival, a theater festival born from the desire to bring the Baia Mare community closer to culture.
Now in its third edition, the Aproape Festival is an expanding artistic phenomenon that has attracted over 8,500 direct participants. The festival has brought together important names such as Maia Morgenstern, Pavel Bartoș, Alex Nedea, and Luiza Zan.
In parallel, Dragoș initiated the national campaign “Generația fără droguri: Copiii Noștri, Viitorul Nostru” in partnership with the Maramureș County School Inspectorate. The campaign impacted over 5,000 young people through an emotional experience about substance abuse.

He founded the “Generația fără Droguri: Elevii Noștri, Viitorul Nostru” Caravan, successfully bringing the play “Te iubesc, SMM!” to 30 educational institutions in the county.
Before the Aproape Festival, he initiated the “Zilele Teatrului Tânăr” project, a 3-day event featuring creative workshops, conferences, and performances aimed at young people and parents from Baia Mare.

He is currently developing the concept of Teatrul Aproape through projects such as:
- Aproape Impro Show (improvisation shows in unconventional spaces),
- Aproape Jazz – jazz concerts transformed into deep emotional experiences.
